about me

I'm Claire Meadows, founder of Meadows Editorial — an editorial and communications studio specialising in copywriting, editing, proofreading and ghostwriting.

My career has centred on words, ideas, culture and communication. With an MA in Literature and a background spanning arts publishing, cultural communications and the gallery sector, I bring both editorial expertise and first-hand experience of the creative world to my work.

My experience includes working with After Nyne Magazine, where I worked across arts publishing and cultural communications, and subsequently running After Nyne Gallery. At the gallery, I worked directly with artists and creative practitioners, developed and coordinated exhibitions, managed the day-to-day operation of the space, promoted the gallery and secured clients to hire it for exhibitions and events.

Working on both sides of the cultural conversation — publishing creative work and creating spaces in which it could be experienced — gave me a particular understanding of the relationship between artists, organisations, audiences and communication.

That experience now informs the Arts & Culture strand of Meadows Editorial. I work with artists, galleries, publishers, cultural organisations and creative businesses to communicate their ideas and work with clarity, intelligence and personality.

Alongside my cultural work, I provide editorial and communications support to businesses and individuals, helping them find the right words for websites, publications, articles, thought leadership, professional communications and longer-form projects.

Whether I'm starting with a blank page, refining an existing piece of writing or working behind the scenes to shape someone else's voice, my approach is the same:

Understand the subject.
Understand the audience.
Understand the purpose.
Then find the words.

That's the thinking behind Meadows Editorial.

The art of saying it well.
